What is Institution of Happiness (IOH)?

The Institution of Happiness (IOH) is a flagship initiative by QS I-GAUGE, designed to assess and celebrate the well-being of educational institutions across India. Now entering its latest edition, IOH 2025-26 brings a renewed focus on inclusivity, emotional health, and community voices.

This year’s theme, "One Campus, Many Smiles: Celebrating Every Voice in Well-being" reflects our commitment to ensuring that every student, faculty member, and institution is heard, supported, and celebrated.

The Purpose and Impact of IOH

The Institution of Happiness (IOH) serves as an opportunity for schools, colleges, and universities to understand the level of happiness and well-being of their stakeholders. Upon successful completion, institutions receive a certificate and, upon request, an analytical report detailing survey responses from students and faculty. This report helps institutions gain deeper insights into well-being and happiness, supporting informed decision-making and strategic improvements.

At QS I-GAUGE, it is believed that joyful students contribute to a positive classroom environment, fostering a highly productive institution. Similarly, engaging effectively with the dynamic younger generation requires educators who impart knowledge with happiness and patience - something attainable when the institution prioritises educators’ well-being alongside students’. QS I-GAUGE is committed to evaluating educational institutions qualitatively by gauging stakeholder satisfaction, ensuring a robust and transparent approach to building happiness metrics.

The Institution of Happiness Survey serves as a valuable tool for advancing happiness, well-being, quality of life, sustainability, and social change. This survey forms a crucial part of a broader movement recognizing happiness as a vital aspect of the environmental, social, and economic paradigms within society. Through this initiative, QS I-GAUGE strives to build and measure happiness metrics using surveys and qualitative data analysis, making the process both robust and transparent.

What is IOH 2025-26?

IOH 2025 is a comprehensive well-being assessment programme that empowers institutions to understand and enhance happiness across their campuses through three key surveys:

  • Student Survey (Schools & HEIs)

  • Faculty Survey (Schools & HEIs)

  • Alumni Survey (HEIs)

  • Parent Survey (Schools)

  • Institutional Survey (Schools & HEIs)

These anonymous, data-driven surveys provide insights into the emotional, academic, and social well-being of all stakeholders. Institutions will receive recognition for their efforts in nurturing joyful and supportive environments.
